For the first time I feel like I am in control of my schedule, my income, and my life. I cannot see myself going back to W2.
I started locums right out of fellowship and a lot of people tried to talk me out of it. The hardest part early on was not having guidance. I was figuring everything out on my own with no one to turn to. Joining LocumOS changed that. Having access to Ali and the community gave me real insight into EM job markets, contracts, and how to navigate this space with confidence. That alone made a huge difference. Itās been a little over a year since I fully transitioned from W2 to locums and I can honestly say I couldnāt be happier. The flexibility is priceless. For the first time, I feel like Iām in control of my schedule, my income, and my life. The LocumOS community has also been great. Being able to connect with other physicians, ask questions, and learn from people in the same position has been incredibly valuable. I canāt see myself going back to W2.
Ali and LocumOS have helped me feel more confident transitioning from W2 to 1099 work.
Ali and LocumOS have helped me feel more confident transitioning from W2 to 1099 work. Even though I had already done a lot of research and set up many components to becoming a 1099 contractor including my own PLLC, LocumOS helped ease my fear of the unknown and I think thatās invaluable to actually taking action and not getting frozen in analysis paralysis. Furthermore, Ali and the program have helped me shift my identity from being completely tied to being a physician towards medicine being a part of my identity, and I think this is a healthier outlook for our careers and in general. Lastly, there is regular engagement on new practical/actionable ideas and tools in a community of people who question the norm and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Thanks for all you do!
Joined February 2026, transitioned to full time locums in OB-GYN by March 2026.
I joined LocumOS in 2/2026 and transitioned to full time locum tenens in OB-GYN March 2026. The videos were invaluable. In addition, I joined in on several calls for coaching. I am now enjoying time, money, and location freedom. I still have alot to learn but the transition from W2 to 1099 was not as daunting as anticipated.
I joined LocumOS March 2026. Iāve watched all the videos and participate in the weekly calls. I was approved by my first site within 2 weeks.
I joined LocumOS March 2026. Iāve watched all the videos and participate in the weekly calls. The videos and Aliās guidance alone are priceless. Hearing how itās transformed other peopleās lives lets me know that this is the true path to accelerate reaching my goals and creating the life I want to live. Iām already 1099 but the idea is the same in that I donāt control my schedule and therefore my life. I havenāt officially done my 1st Locum shift but I was approved by my 1st site within 2 weeks. Iām excited for this journey. Thank you Ali.
After a significant amount of self-reflection over the past few months, Iāve come to see how becoming a locum full-time better aligns with my core values.
I recently joined LocumsOS after learning more about the program from social media. I made the decision in the past month to transition away from my full time W2 position in Emergency Medicine into full time locums, and am planning the transition full time in the fall of 2026. I initially learned about locums in 2025 and reached out to Ali last summer after seeing a post of his on EM Docs Jobs, but was initially hesitant about making the leap. At the time, it was a combination of being uncertain of the unknown, and being ācomfortable staying comfortableā in a w2 position.. However, after a significant amount of self reflection over the past few months, Iāve come to see how becoming locums full time better aligns with my core values. Through Alis book, website videos, and podcasts, it has shown me that there is a way to regain balance in my professional and personal life. I truly believe that this path not only makes for better physicians, but also makes for more balanced and fulfilled individuals. Iām looking forward to learning more along the journey and Iām excited about making the change. This resource has been invaluable!
Instead of piecing together advice from forums and guesswork, LocumOS provides a true support system physicians can rely on.
LocumOS does a great job of providing a complete system for physicians looking to get started in locums and move forward with confidence.
Like myself, most doctors come out of residency with skills focused almost exclusively on medicine. Having the business side of locums organized into a clear, well-structured system was invaluable. Instead of feeling scattered or unsure where to begin, everything was broken down into clean, digestible pieces that actually made sense. The content was efficient yet thorough, making it easy to plug into the system whenever I had a few minutes of downtime. The mobile app made this even more seamless, allowing me to stay connected throughout my day.
As a recent graduate, it felt overwhelming knowing where to startānot only as a new attending, but as a new locums physician navigating an entirely different landscape. Trying to piece things together on my own felt like sending a distress signal into online forums and hoping someone would respond. LocumOS replaces that uncertainty with a true support system. Beyond the structured resources, it offers a community where physicians at every stage can share real experiences, ask questions, and grow together. Any question, anytime, anywhereāthis is the system I know I can rely on.
